Associations
Associations have a long tradition in Germany. They can be established arbitrarily and freely.
Most of the associations carry the suffix “e. V.”, and then it is a “registered association” that is listed in the registry of associations. The registration in the registry of associations is advantageous above all because the liability risks to the people (executive board) acting within the association are then limited. Additionally, the registered association is vested with legal capacity, so that it can conclude contracts as a legal entity; for example, the clubhouse can be entered in the land register, in the name of the society.
You will find additional information about these topics, like formation as well as changes to the executive board and articles of the association on the following pages.
